On Tuesday we saw Day 1c of the $10,000 Main Event, which had drawn in some big names from the world of poker with the likes of Phil Ivey, Jason Mercier and Erik Seidel all fighting for their chance to take home the Aussie Millions Main Event title.
The third day saw them start flooding in with 317 coming out to hit the tables and after some great poker in the first seven levels of play, the field was whittled down to just 150 with Robert Lam out in front with 198,400 chips. By the close of play on Day 1c, there are still a lot of big-named players left in the event so it is anyone’s guess still as to who will win.
The $5,000 Chinese Poker Event
Monday at the poker tournament also saw the start of the $5,000 Chinese Poker Event, which welcomed 25 players, including Jason Gray, Florian Langman, Daniel Cates, Barry Greenstein, Mike Watson and Gary Benson. Ultimately the $50,000 first prize went to Benjamin Breadsell with Mike Gorodinsky taking second place and $35,750; Jason Gray took third and a not-to-be-sniffed-at $22,000 for his participation.
Other Events
If the cost of the Main Event is too much for you, the guys at the Crown have also put on a host of affordable events such as the $550 No Limit Hold’em. This event took place on Monday as the Melbourne railers watched some 170 players take part, which meant there was a part of the $85,000 prize pool up for grabs. With Borge Dypvik taking first place and the $19,130 jackpot, Chris Ozer took second place and $14,040. We also saw Mishel Anunu take the third place spot and $11,050.
John
- hailing from Watford, UK John became hooked on the game of poker ever since his uncle taught him the rules of 7-card stud during a home game at the young age of 15. He caught the online bug three short years later after turning 18 and began regularly playing Texas Hold'em SNGs.
