The World Series of Poker Europe (WSOPE) Main event has just eight players left and they are set to battle it out for €1.4 million in prize money over in Cannes, France. The final table is set to be streamed live online with a 15 minute delay from 1pm GMT today for those wishing to watch it.
The final eight and their chip stacks going into the final table are as follows:
1st Elio Fox 3,990,000 Won Bellagio cup for over 600k
2nd Jake Cody 2,685,000
3rd Dermot Blain 2,405,000 APPT 2009 winner
4th Chris Moorman 2,230,000
5th Brian Roberts 2,000,000
6th Max Silver 1,825,000
7th Moritz Kranich 1,660,000
8th Shawn Buchanan 1,015,000
From the bottom up, Shawn Buchanan may have a short stack, but he has already shown he knows how to use it, with a 2nd place finish earlier on in the WSOPE in the €2,000 split format event, despite coming into the final portion of the event sitting 11th out of the remaining 16.
Moritz Kranich is the only German at the table and he will be looking to add a WSOPE win to his resume after wins at EPT Deauville in 2009 and the WPT Bellagio Cup in 2010.
Max Silver is a British pro who already has big cash at the WSOPE with his 4th place finish on the €3,200 shootout event.
Brian Roberts, known as Flawless Victory, doesn’t have a lot of success in big tournaments, being mainly a cash pro, but will look to improve on his tournament resume with a good run here.
Chris Moorman is one of the best MTT players online and is now showing off his skills in the live arena with big cashes in a number of tournaments such as this year’s Aussie Millions main event and has amassed over $4 million in tournament earnings.
Dermot Blain is the only Irishman at the table and will be looking to better his previous best win at the Australian Pacific Poker Tour (APPT) main event back in 2009.
Jake Cody won his first WSOP bracelet this year in the first bracelet event of the summer in Vegas and will be looking to close out the year by taking home the last in this event. His current spot in 2nd suggests he has a great chance to do just that.
He will have to get past American tournament pro Max Silver. Silver has already had a good year, winning the Bellagio Cup for over $600,000, but a win here would surpass that and he holds the chip lead by more than a million chips.
