Zynga’s mandate to connect with the world extends to its Facebook Texas Hold’Em application that has already enlisted more than 15 million subscribers to date.
Zynga offers free fun for people to pass time or brush up on poker skills on websites like Facebook and MySpace and even on the iPhone, allowing players to get in valuable practice before moving onto paid competition.
Rated as one of the top five Facebook apps, due to extensive cross-promotion between the World Series of Poker and Zynga, five lucky Zynga winners made it as far as Day 3 in the World Series of Poker Tournament in 2009.
For lighter hearted poker players, Zyng draws an estimated 200,000 players worldwide daily and features various daily chip bonuses for Facebook subscribers. Free to join, winning chips is as easy as logging into your poker account daily or winning the prize pot through hands.
Players can either play regular games or sit down tournaments. Players can lose all their chips one day and then log in for daily bonuses the next. After their dose of free chips however, players who bust must purchase more from Zynga to keep playing.
Players can also add poker friends and gift chips to friends. Zynga also has a neat little virtual gift store where players can send their friends gifts like roses or teddy bears.
One important caveat for players is that chips are not refundable in the event of an account suspension. Accounts can be suspended for “inappropriate” postings (including pictures) on profiles, excessive swearing in chats, and offensive sounding comments that may slip out in frustration.
Zynga refunds banned or suspended accounts only 10% of total chips earned, if the account is even reinstated. Some users have reported of chips being stolen.
