Where will the new great casinos with the bigger and better poker rooms open around the world?
Forbes Traveler has pinpointed the Top Ten New Hot Spots for casino growth (outside of the continually booming Las Vegas of course). That's a rendering of one of their top picks above: Casino Windsor in Ontario just across the river from Detroit, Michigan. Casino Windsor is in the midst of a major expansion and renovation, as well as a name change to Casear's Windsor (Yes, they are now in the Harrah's Corporate family). You can follow the work in Ontario with the Caesar's Casino Windsor Construction Cam.
Another big project on the Forbes Top Ten List is the $3-billion Marina Bay Sands resort in Singapore, which is expected to open in 2009. This scale model rendering shows just how innovative this on-the-water resort/casino will be when completed.
Not all of the Forbes list are yet to be built. Current destinations include:
Atlantic City, New Jersey, USA
Biloxi, Mississsippi, USA
Paradise Island, The Bahamas
But new properties are highlited in those already established locations long with these casino meccas you may not have discovered yet.
Manchester, England, UK
Nova Garcia, Slovenia
Mendoza, Argentina
Ciudad, Spain
and of course, the casino boom capital: Macau, China.
Here's hoping the WSOP, WPT, EPT, APT and any other poker tour schedulers are paying attention. My bags are packed!
