Coverage of the World Poker Bloggers Tour event requires references to poker and to alcohol. Both of which limit the ability of anyone to actually "report" on anything.

I can offer that a big olde bunch o'bloggers had a big olde buffet at the Wynn yesterday and then a big olde vat of drinks at MGM Grand last night; allegedly there was also some poker played at the MGM and at the Wynn. I have no personal evidence to verify the poker rumor, however, I do have several "Thank-you to our Designated Driver" buttons to support the alcohol consumption. Now someone explain that problem finding the Wynn at 1 AM. HINT (for next time): Its the big building with the curvy walls.

LAS VEGAS--Ahh, it's just like old times. It seems like only yesterday a few months ago the PokerBlog crew was raising some serious ruckus at the WSOP. Now, many of us are back, for some delightful commiseration at the WPBT Winter Classic. I have yet to step foot on the Strip, but am headed that way. So you can expect some SERIOUS hand-by-hand coverage/drinking.

The good thing is that companies are starting to recognize the value of bloggers. The bad thing is that that means some of us actually have to work. Now "longtime" pokerbloggy great Bill Rini (one of my favorites), who helped develop Full Tilt's Mac software, has been recruited by the Good Guys at PartyPoker. Fantastic.

My only bummer is that whatever contract he signed didn't force him to blog here at PokerBlog. I tried to use all my clout to make that happen, but a) I don't have any; and b) the top Party dogs said then we'd have no room for Dr. Tim. Anyhow, here is the email that Bill sent out today explaining his situation:
