Bizarro and the Bizarro World have become somewhat well known in popular culture. The term Bizarro is used as to describe anything that utilizes twisted logic or that is the opposite of something else. [another wonderful Wikipedia definition]
A non-poker buddy sent me the link to a piece in the Detroit Free Press about interviews for 1,000 new jobs for the MGM Grand Casino there. Interesting article in that this will be both a closing of the old/temporary MGM property in Detroit and the Grand Opening of the new/permanent property all to take place later this year. I kept reading into the web comments on the article and found they were all very negative. Not negative about the jobs but pointing out the negatives of gambling and perhaps even that gambling in Detroit is a completely unique problem from other casino cities.
When my Detroit friend called this logic "Bizarro", I told him I thought that was not a correct use of the term and pointed him to the Wikipedia definition. He skyped back with this question:
"OK, you're the Poker Shrink, give me your best example of Bizarro in the Poker World."
I thought for about 30 seconds before I sent him the links below.

And for those true poker junkies who were around the 2+2 Forums last winter, yes it is true that the Best of Bizarro POB thread, which ran on for hundreds and hundreds of posts was removed by the Administrator in an act of rewriting the Bizarro History of Poker. Sorta like being the Official Media Provider for the World Series of Poker and not covering some of the events.
