Dot Net

As the Poker Shrink reported earlier, all players wearing swag representing any sort of poker site (not just online poker rooms mind you, but any sort of poker-related web site) are required to stick an ugly white label with ".NET" onto the offending shirt, hat, etc., even if a dot net version of said site does not exist. From a fashion standpoint alone, it's tragic, but seriously, I want to know who in the Harrah's/ESPN brain trust came up with this "solution." Do they have ANY IDEA how idiotic everyone looks?

Well folks there is some good news today. Harrah's has fired all of their lawyers. Unfortunately, they have replaced them all with the Hold'em playing monkey and he has made a new decision on player apparel. As of today not only can you not wear dot com logo wear; you also cannot wear anything that does not have dot net.

Which means, if you come into the room wearing a Party Poker shirt they will stick a .NET sticker on you. No this is not poker humor. There are piles of stick-on .NET stickers all over the room and they are being liberally applied to all parts of all players regardless of race, color, creed, or national origin. Sexual Orientation is not covered as the WSOP has a "don't ask, don't fondle" policy.

Interestingly, Harrah's is now creating advertising for non-existent websites, as not all of the .Com sites having a .Net affliate but this fall on ESPN you will be seeing .Net shirts advertising absolutely nothing.
